Dryfruit Vienna Braid cake

Ingredients:

Dough

Warm water- 1/4 cup
Yeast- 1tbsp
Milk- 1/2 cup
Butter- 1/4 cup
Suger- 1/2 cup
Salt -1tsp
All purpose flour - 3 and 1/2 cup
egg (beaten) - 1

Filling


Dry fruit - 1 cup
Sugar - 1 cup
Egg - 1
butter - 3 tsp


Preparation

Dough
Add yeast to warm water and set aside for 15 minutes
Scald milk. Turn off heat and add butter to melt it.
Add sugar and salt and stir to dissolve
Allow mixture to cool till it is warm
Add 1 and 1/2 cup flour to mixture and stir
Add Yeast mixture and beaten egg and stir to dissolve

Blend in  1- 2 cups of flour, 1/2 cup at a time to make a shaggy dough
Knead flour till it is smooth and elastic.Keep dusting yur fingers with flour while kneeding
Transfer to greased bowl and grease all sides of dough.

Keep aside for 3 hours

Filling

Grind dry fruits. Do not turn it in paste
Blend in all other ingredients.
Blend well


Cake

Divide dough in 2 parts
Roll it into a rectangle

cut the sides of the rectangle in strips

Put filling in the dough

cover one strip at a time to make braid

Keep aside for 1 hour

Bake at 350 F and bake for 20 mins
