Bread Sticks



Ingredients:

Warm water - 1+ 1/4 cup
Yeast - 1 packet
All purpose flour - 4 Cups
Wheat Flour - 1/2 cup
Oil- 1/3 cup
Curd- 1/3 cup
Chilli powder - 2 tsp
Sugar - 1/4 cup
Salt - 1 tsp

Method

In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast.
Stir to dissolve.

Add 1 cup of the all-purpose flour, the whole wheat flour, oil, curd, sugar, chili powder, salt.
 Beat  for 10 minute.

Add  the remaining flour to make a soft dough that pulls away from sides of bowl



 Place dough in greased container. Spray/spread oil over the dough .Cover; refrigerate overnight.

 Next day, punch dough down.
Knead the dough again in a lightly flouired surface
Roll dough into a  rectangle.

Use oiled  knife to cut dough into strips,

  Cover and let rise about 1 hour or until doubled in size.

Brush with oil chilli and garlic for flavor.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Bake about 20 minutes or until golden.

Serve with soup or  olive oil

Dark Cocoa Cake





Ingredients

Sugar - 2 cups
All purpose flour - 1 + 3/4 cups
Cocoa powder - 3/4 cup
Baking Soda - 2 tsp
Salt - 1tsp
Egg - 2
Milk - 1 cup
Oil- 1/2 Cup
Vanilla extract - 2 tsp
Boiling water - 1 cup

Preparation

Grease and flour the bread baking pan to bake .
Preheat oven at 350 deg
place pan inside to preheat

In a mixing Bowl, Mix sugar, salt , flour and baking powder .

Mix well
Add milk and mix together

Add egg and mix

Add vanilla extract and mix

Add oil and mix

transfer in a blender and blend for 2 minutes

Add water and mix well again

pour mixture in the baking dish leaving space for the cake to rise

Heat for 1 hour or till the cake is baked ( a needle pierced in the cake comed out clean)
Let the cake rest in rack till it cools

cut and serve
Can be removed from the pan and decorated with icing

Irish Brown Bread

Ingredients:


All purpose flour- 2 cups
Wheat flour - 1 + 1/4 cup
Oats - 3/4 cup
Oil- 2 tbsp
salt - 1/2 tsp
Sugar- 2 tsp
Curds/Yogurt - 1 + 1/4 cup
baking powder - 3/4 tsp

Preparation


Place the baking sheet in oven and Preheat oven at 375
.

Mix all purpose flour and baking powder in a large bowl

Mix well
Add Wheat flour to the mixture and mix well
Add oatmeal and mix
add oil and sugar and mix well
Add curd

knead well and make a ball
use some flour or water if needed

Place the ball over baking sheet

make a cross with floured knife
Pace it in the oven for 45 minutes till the crust is hard and the bread is cooked properly
Cut and serve

Morning Rolls

All purpose flour - 2 and 1/2 cups
Oil/shortening- 4 tsp
warm water - 1 cup
Yeast- 1 tsp
Sugar- 2 tsp
Salt - 1 tsp

Take a bowl and add oil ,  1 and 1/2 cup of flour in it. Add oil yeast and sugar to flour

Mix properly
Add warm water and mix properly
Add salt after mixing

add one cup of all purpose flour and knead the flour to give a nice texture
grease a bowl and keep the dough greasing at all ends

Cover with damp cloth and keep aside for an hour and half

The dough will increase in size after keeping aside
Punch the dough and knead for 5 minutes
separate out small balls from the dough
Give them round shape and place in a greased baking dish

keep aside for 1/2 an hour
Preheat oven at 450 F
place the baking dish with balls inside the oven and heat for 15 minutes.

Remove from oven and let it cool.


Alteration:
use 1 1/2 cup of wheat and 1 cup of all purpose flour  instead of 2and 1/2 cups of all purpose flour to make Wheat rolls.
They will be just as good

Egg less Custard Cake

Ingredients

Milk- 1and 1/2 cup
Oil/Butter- 2 tbsp
Vanilla essence - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 3/4 cup

All purpose flour - 1 and 1/2 cup
Baking powder- 1 and 1/4 tsp
Custard powder(Vanilla)- 1/3 cup

Preparation
Preheat oven at 360F(180C)
Take a bowl (big enough to contain all ingredient) and pour milk in it
Add oil to the bowl and mix well
Whisk for some time
Add Vanilla essence and whisk again till it mixes well
Add sugar to the bowl
Mix well till sugar dissolves(check if it not settling at the bottom)

In a plate sieve all purpose flour, baking powder and Custard powder


Add the mixture to Bowl in batches, stir after adding each batch
Whisk till the mixture smooths


Pour in greased baking dish and bake for approx 30 minutes
Check by poking toothpick to cake.If it comes out clean, cake is done
Let the cake cool down inside the oven. Remove when it is cooled down
